An individually tailored approach is taken to every project, whether developing conservation strategies for historic glass, creating striking new designs to commission or producing period style plain glazing appropriate to the architectural surroundings. All work is carried out in-house by our multi-skilled team.
We undertake projects on glass of all periods, from the medieval to the present day, and of all sizes, from small domestic repairs and installations to major cathedral works.
Barley Studio conserves historic stained glass windows in cathedrals, churches and historic houses. Major projects include the 16th-century Herkenrode windows at Lichfield Cathedral, the unique original medieval scheme at St Mary’s Church, Fairford (recognised by the National Award for Conservation 1998), and the remarkable collections at Longleat and Blickling.
