The Barley Studio team have completed the conservation and protection of two windows for Whixley Church. Made in 1862 by local firm Hodgson of York, both windows were suffering from severe ‘crizzling’ of dark green glasses; many pieces had completely disintegrated leaving holes in the windows. With no option but to replace these pieces, we were able to restore some lost details and to preserve the remainder by reinstalling the windows with environmental protective glazing.
